Educational Philosophy

At Rocky Mountain School of Discovery, we provide the children with experiences that will connect them to the natural world. The earth has a finite amount of resources that human life depends on and we are facing serious environmental challenges. The education of our children is part of the long-term solution to these problems. We believe that instilling values and giving our children hands-on learning experiences in a natural setting is crucial to develop their understanding of, a concern for, and a sense of stewardship of the natural environment. We grow vegetables in our gardens, tend to our animals and bake bread.

A Creative Learning Environment

We have a loving, fun-filled and creative learning environment where children are free to learn at their own pace. Cooperation and teamwork are encouraged. We teach how to respect all people, regardless of cultural origin. At Rocky Mountain School of Discovery, we have high professional standards. One of our main goals is to establish a strong partnership with the families of our students. Most of all, we want these precious years to be as happy, joyous, safe and troublefree as possible in a peaceful, nurturing time.
